The technology company Hiades Business Patterns participated in AAPA LATAM 2025, the most important port industry congress in Latin America, held from 24 to 27 June in Lima. The event brought together over 700 international leaders from the sector, including port authorities, logistics operators, tech companies, and delegations from more than 20 countries.
This event, organised by AAPA LATAM in collaboration with the National Port Authority —APN—, Specialised Technical Operator (OTE/MTC), and PR PORTS, featured an intensive programme with more than 40 international speakers, a trade fair with cutting-edge suppliers, business matchmaking sessions, and multiple networking opportunities.
The agenda addressed key topics: digital transformation and port automation; decarbonisation and sustainability; city-port governance; security and organised crime; global shipping strategies; regional logistics integration; and the use of artificial intelligence and IoT.
An added value were the technical visits to emblematic infrastructures such as the ports of Callao and Chancay, which allowed participants to gain first-hand insights into strategic investments and operational advances positioning Peru as a hub for the South Pacific.
In addition, key agreements were signed during the opening and closing ceremonies: an action protocol with Spain’s State Ports and a memorandum of understanding with the Free Trade Zones Association of the Americas (AZFA). The event also featured the presentation of the AAPA–CIP/OAS Awards and the first AAPA LATAM Legacy Awards — initiatives to honour outstanding careers and contributions to the sector. The congress’s general director, Zulma Dinelli, stated that this edition had sown “lasting partnerships” and would be remembered as “the spark of a new era” for the regional port industry.
During the congress, Hiades presented AMURA, its port digitalisation platform, designed to integrate sensors, data, and real-time decision-making, enhancing the efficiency, connectivity, and sustainability of port operations.
In parallel, Hiades Business Patterns, the consultancy division led by its CEO Airam Rodríguez, became a member of AAPA LATAM. This firm, specialised in Business Intelligence, will strengthen the analytical and operational capacity of the Latin American sector, helping to raise standards in efficiency, competitiveness, and strategic decision-making.
Hiades is reinforcing port modernisation in Latin America by leading the integration of digital solutions.
